Highlands Choir Concert will be here in no time! I am so excited!!! 

One week 

Tuesday, December 18, 2018 with a 7pm start time - 

ALL CHOIR students report to the HS by 6:30 pm

6th grade choir members report to HIGH SCHOOL BAND ROOM

5th grade choir members report to HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR ROOM

Please make sure your singer has their clothes picked out, are washed & ironed, and ready to go!!  Please try them on and make sure they still fit - you know how fast these kids grow.  It may have fit them a month ago and MAY NOT FIT NOW!  Please check it out BEFORE TUESDAY!  I know you are all so busy - I get it!  I just want them to look as amazing as they will sound!

ATTIRE: 

BOYS:  Dress pants or khaki's, belt, button down shirt tucked in, and dress shoes!! 

NO TENNIES, NO JEANS, NO SWEATPANTS!!!

GIRLS:  Dress or skirt & blouse, no writing on shirts, dress shoes

PLEASE FOLLOW SCHOOL DRESS CODE!!  

Not too short, no spaghetti straps (unless you wear a sweater over it)

So glad to be a part of this great school!!

5TH GRADE CHOIRS 

are learning vowel modification, the staff notes and rests, diaphragmatic breathing, 

how to lift the soft palette, and are also busy preparing for their first concert ...

They will be singing a Swedish Song called

Sankta Lucia

Solo try-outs for this piece will be in early December ... 

5th graders interested in the solo should take home a copy of the music, 

pull up the song on youtube, and practice, practice, practice!

6TH GRADE CHOIRS

are learning many of the same things as well as notating rhythms, singing in harmony 

as well as in unison, and preparing for their first concert ...

They will be singing a beautiful Latin song called 

Psallite

which really makes them work hard singing in their high range!

Hey all!  LIVE PERFORMANCE PAPERS ARE DUE THIS WEEK FRIDAY, MAY 11. 

However, if you confirm via email to me before THIS Thursday that you will be going to one of the other concerts that are after the 11th, I will still give full CR if it is TURNED IN the day after the concert that you see!

Hey everyone!!  The big day is coming upon us!  We will be going to choir festival THIS UPCOMING WEEK, on Thursday, March 8.  Please make sure your kiddo has their clothes all ready!  Here is the attire for the day:

CHOIR SHIRT wrinkle free & clean!

BLACK PANTS wrinkle free & clean!

BLACK SHOES clean, no rips, tennies are fine!

If you have volunteered a dessert, please send in by Thursday morning!  Really don't have many people so if you haven't signed up, please let me know if you can help!  I have these parents volunteering desserts:  Martin, Bodner, Owens, Stratton

If you have volunteered pop, please send in anytime.  I could use some more as well but so far I have these people:  Martin, Cullum & Troupe (already sent in - thanks!!)

CHAPERONES:  HENKE, LEDESMAS 2, DURON, WILLIAMS, STOY, MOSELY, OWENS, CRAWFORD, BROWN  Really could use a couple more chaperones if you are willing, daring, and able!!!??

If your kiddo has NOT turned in their $3 for the pizza party - please send in asap!!??  I will be ordering this on Monday, so please send in on Monday so I know how much to order!!  Chaperones, if you will be joining us to eat, please send in that money as well!  Thanks -
