As you may be aware, a NO TAX RATE INCREASE RENEWAL of the building and site millage for a period of ten years is on the May 6, 2014 ballot.  This money may not be used for salaries, operating expenses or equipment.  If this fund was not present, we would need to divert operating dollars from classroom and co-curricular programs to facilities repair and safety upgrades.

Here is a link to a story on the request for a renewal written by School News Network reporter Charles Honey:

Here is a link to a short view of the six school districts asking for community support:

Attached  is a list of "frequently asked questions" regarding the ballot proposal.

I am asking you to share this information with those in your email address book, on your social media pages, and across the back fence in your neighborhood.  Remind others to vote on May 6, 2014.

Sincerely,

Mike Paskewicz, Superintendent

END OF THE YEAR CHOIR TRIP TO:

MICHIGAN ADVENTURE

Thursday, May 29, 2014

This letter will be going home with your child on Wednesday, May 30
Well, parents ~ we are almost here!!  Can you believe we are planning our final trip for the year?? We are busy preparing for our POPS concert, final exams, and all the fun we will have at MI Adventure!!!  Here is the lowdown:

Tickets for the both the water park and the regular park will be $20.00 total which includes lunch!!

Traveling with 2 buses will cost approximately $800.00 for all 100 students.  Total for busing per person will be $8.00!

Grand total for kids ~ $28.00

There will be a few students who CANNOT afford to pay so I will be paying for them so that ALL the kids can attend!  If you can bump your check up to $30 to help off-set those who cannot pay – I would greatly appreciate it!  Every little bit helps!!  No worries if you cannot!  I know times are tough!!

It will be a long day as we will leave around 9am and will return hopefully before 7PM to Crossroads Middle School! Have kiddos eat a good breakfast, we will serve them lunch, but we will NOT be getting dinner!  They may want to bring extra cash for snacks throughout the day!! However, it is NOT required!!

Students should wear their choir shirt and shorts/pants!  They should also bring their appropriate bathing suit!  There are lockers to put clothes in while they are at the water park!  Send some change for lockers!!  Please call or email with any questions or concerns!

I NEED CHAPERONES SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP OUT!!!

Before I sign off – here are some other upcoming important choir events:

LIVE performance paper due:  Friday, May 16

POPS Choir concert:  Tuesday, May 20 @ 7:30pm at PAC
(students report at 7pm)

Final Exam performances start:

7th grade: Friday, May 30

8th grade:  Monday, June 2

Thanks so much for being such great parents

and for a great year!!
