ParentVue and StudentVue are the access portals for our new Student Information System that has been implemented this fall. They are replacing the previous Edline service. ParentVue and StudentVue give parents/guardians and students the ability to view student schedules, class attendance, class assignments, grades and report cards, varying according to grade level. 

We are currently working on the portal setup as well as determining the rollout process. Our goal is to have the portals available by early October. More information will become available in the near future. We hope you find the new portals a helpful communication tool between school and home!

Until that time, we encourage you to contact your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns regarding your child's progress.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

 "There is always something to sing about!!!"

Well, I cannot believe the summer is over.  Seems like just yesterday I was getting this blog all started!! Now here we are!!!  Some changes for the new year in Vocal Music!!!

1.  All choir kids will be joining the band this year at Michigan Adventure at the end of May!!  I have never done this but am excited to offer it to the choir students as well. I guess you could call it a little thank you for all the extra work we do in choir.

2.  I will be changing the final exam for the new year to either performance for the class or a written exam covering everything we do within the school year.  The written exam will be very hard and will cover EVERYTHING that we learned throughout the year with at least 3 essay questions!  I highly recommend all students sing for their final but if they are not prepared then they will be expected to take the written test!!

3.  There will be a small fundraiser in early October as we will need some extra cash.  Things are getting harder and harder within the schools so we need to try to help out where we can.  We haven't done a fundraiser in a few years so it is time! We will have fun with lots of cool prizes! 

So glad to be back and can't wait to get started!!!

Well Crossroads choir kids are "bustin' a move" over here!  We are dancing, singing, and having a blast as we prepare for our upcoming concert!  The date is Tuesday, May 21 at "the Max" so I sure hope to see you all there!  Here are few things that you should know so take note:

1.  On Tuesday, May 21 - ALL choir kids will be at the PAC from 11 - 2:15 to rehearse for the big concert!  I would LOVE some parent helpers for crowd control!! If you can hang for awhile during that time,  please let me know!

2.  All choir kids need to wear their choir shirt and jeans (or shorts) for the concert that evening so if you haven't seen their shirt in awhile - maybe take a looksie and get it ready!!

3.  Men will also need a fedora type hat for one of their songs so if you have one that your son could use or if you have one that you can loan for the nite, please let me know that too!!

4. Lastly, final exam is well underway, if in 7th grade, your child should be working on a composer report or working on their song for class.  If in 8th grade, they should just be working on their performance piece for final exam!!  Ask them about it!!  Next grade for that is this upcoming Tuesday, May 14!!

All choir students must turn in their blue packet and signed final exam form from parents by Thursday, March 28!  This is the first assignment for term 4 - let's do our best to get EVERYONE to turn in these 2 assignments!!  Thanks!

ATTENTION 8TH GRADE PARENTS AND STUDENTS:

8TH GRADE CHOIR MEMBERS WILL BE PERFORMING AT GRAND RAPIDS WHITE CAPS GAME ON TUESDAY, APRIL 23 AT NOON!!

Students must get their $13.00 in asap - this will cover their ticket (seat) into the game, a hotdog, and a drink!!  Parents please get on this ... NOW!!  I must give them a number when we get back from break!  Parents and/or family members are welcome with this ticket price so send in money for any who would like to join as well!!  We are so excited and hope you are too!!   THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
